If you are looking for more "personalized" information on the IRG, you've come to the right spot.  This is Nanny's Niche and the IRG is being held in my neck of the woods!!   Cheesy

In a redwood forest ecosystem each plant, animal, and tree must find its unique place (or niche) to fit in to best survive and thrive.  So it is with this Inaugural Redwood Gathering.  Those of us putting together this first-time event are striving to give you a memorable experience in the redwoods.  The intent is for Teardroppers and Teardrop enthusiasts to come together and enjoy the area, and themselves, to the fullest.

The IRG website gives you an up close look at the glorious grove and its surrounding countryside.  This niche on the Pamplin Grove site is to help make your teardrop time with us a fruitful one.  It will allow IRG participants an opportunity to interact socially on-line, get to know about each other ahead of time, plan travel/caravan schedules, and (for some the most important part :!: ) tell us what you'll be cooking and bringing to the "Featuring Dutch Ovens" Saturday evening potluck.

The County of Humboldt employs a year round caretaker to oversee the grove.  This on-site camp host is there to check the water tank supply, restock the bathrooms (outhouses), offer firewood for sale, and perform routine maintenance to the area.  Please be sure you have read the Pamplin Grove Conditions and Use located on the registration page or roster page as event coordinators and participants are expected to adhere to them.  You may also want to go to T&TTT Teardrop Site Link to see photos and comments from last year's Early Bird Redwood Gatherings (July 2005).

As a Gathering Host (or hostess) I'm assuming the role of Camp Nanny to enhance your level of comfort and ensure your stay is a pleasant one.
Just think of me as your "CAMPGROUND CONCIERGE".  Cool

I'll be there to get you what you might need or have forgotten at home.  Please let me know in a PM if there is anything special going on, such as an anniversary or birthday, that you'd like to have acknowledged at the event.  For those who wish to do so, I'm also planning some simple, wholesome activities for the adults and kids to partake in over the course of the gathering.  I welcome your input and suggestions to help create a Teardrop Gathering that meets, or exceeds, your expectations.

Whether it's providing you with recommendations of places to go and things to do, a book to read, or a bandaid for your booboo;
my goal is to see you are well taken care of during your stay in the redwoods.  To me, these Redwood Gatherings are like a grown up SUMMER CAMP for the kid that still exists in all of us.  Camping and camaraderie-
that does it for me.

Come back and visit anytime.  Good folks are always welcome here.
