Dean, the fires in your area are very worrisome. Hope you and TDN are safe and well. How are they effecting IRG? Or routes to get there?

Steve,
The TDN, my children and I were outside last night, up on a hill 'til just about midnight. The sunset we had watched earlier was downright beautiful. It was smokey, but a few stars peered through the coastal fog as it moved in and out from the coastline below us.
The smokey air around us was sweet, as it wasn't from a wildland fire, but burning sage from the Wiott  Tribe's Bear Dance.
We were there to watch a friend dance, as his Tolowa Tribe had been invited to participate as well.
Well, shortly after 10:00pm all in attendance were invited into the circle to dance with the bears!!!
It was awesome!!!
Worry not Steve, we're fine... Had an experience of a lifetime last night, Pamplin Grove is fine and although right now there are a few traffic delays with a couple of roads because of these fires... All is well.

If a real problem does come up, I'll post the latest info and safety precautions to take.

George,
I was blown away.
I've heard talk of the Bear Dance, but never dreamed I'd see one, let alone be in one. The kids were like wall flowers at first, until I told them it was the first one I'd seen in my 51 years.
The tribe is very open with their cermony because they are bringing it back to their people... It was almost lost at one point.
The songs and drumming were just awesome!!!
Dancing toe to toe with several bears was pretty neat too...

Dean:

Your time around the fire with the tribe must have been great.

The energies can sure increase when you are in a ceremony and dancing.
